COMMUNITY REMEMBRANCE TREE
At Two Rivers Counseling & Consulting PLLC
307 Kent Street
Portland, MI
Holidays are treasured events—but also come with pain of remembered loss of friends, family, and our furry companions. During 2020, the pain of loss became even more difficult as we were limited in our ability to have close contact with loved ones near the time of death, or to provide support to others or share our grief together.
The Community Remembrance Tree was lit on December 1 and will remain lit through January 6th, 2021. Everyone is welcome to add a ribbon or personal ornament to the tree to honor the memory of their deceased loved ones. There are also snowflakes and ribbons available at no cost that you may write the name of your loved on to add to the tree.
The previous memory tree that was used from 2008-2014 was destroyed by 2015 tornado. This year, a new memory trees was planted.
Please contact Margery Briggs at 517/647-4747 or 517/285-2659 if you have any questions or if you are physically unable to do this and would like a ribbon or snowflake made and placed on the tree. There is also information available at no charge on handling grief during the holidays.
