    Recently voted “Best Local Event” by local beer aficionados, Portland Downtown Executive Director Tina ConnerWellman is excited to be part of #BeerOnBridge.

    It’s about the people and, of course, the craft beer, wine, cider, soda and, for the first time, spirits - all provided by fermented and distilled artisans including American Fifth Spirits, Arbor Brewing Company, Bell’s Brewery, BrickHaven Brewery, ConfluxCity Brewing Company, Cranker’s Brewery, EagleMonk Pub and Brewery, Ellison Brewery, Dark Horse Brewery, Grand Armory Brewing, Lansing Brewing Company, Looking Glass Brewing Company, Leelanau Cellars, Ridge Cider Company, The Sanctuary, Saugatuck Brewing Company, Schmohz Brewery, and Tabor Hill Winery.

    Also featured each year is a new flavor brewed just for this event ~ Portland Strong signature beer.   

    Unique eats are provided by a variety of food trucks and caterers.  Live music always completes the ambiance.  However, it’s about more than the drinks, food and music, according to festival promoter Eric Proctor.

    “The boardwalk, bridge, and park surrounding the river are what separates this festival from other beer festivals out there. At the end of the day, a beer festival is a beer festival. However, Beerfest on the Bridge has one of the most vibrant atmospheres,” said Proctor.

    Portland City Manager Tutt Gorman agrees.

    “Beerfest on the Bridge has become a hallmark event that showcases our historic downtown and local landmarks — the Veterans Memorial Bridge and the boardwalk overlooking the Grand River,” says Gorman. “We are extremely proud of our community and what it has to offer and look forward to showing it off.”

    This festival is held on the historic metal truss bridge that has been in continuous use since 1890. The bridge offers a historic and exciting entrance into downtown Portland.

    The earlier you buy - the more you save!  VIP entry gives an extra 'first hour' (2pm entry) of beer fest and 15 tasting tickets with a logo lasting glass.  General Admission begins at 3pm with logo tasting glass and 10 tasting tickets.

    Don't forget that the 2018 Fall Festival is right around the corner...Sunday, October 14, 2018.

    Activities include:

    All-You-Can-Eat Buffet Dinner (11:00 a.m. - 2:30 p.m.) Featuring slow-roasted roast beef, ham, mashed potatoes and gravy, dressing, vegetable, salad, bread, and dessert.  Held in the school cafeteria.

    Arts & Crafts Show (9:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.) In the gym, classrooms, and hallways.  Contact Darlene Miller (517-526-0765) for more information.

    Cookie Booth in the office hallway.  Fill a box with homemade cookies for a low, low price!

    5K Race & Half Marathon.  (Registration begins at 6:30 a.m.) Will start at PHS.  Contact Dawn Fedewa (517-231-0442) for more information.

    Kidfest (10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m.)  On the second floor of the school.  Games and activities for children. Contact Michele Pelc (517-980-2460) for more information.

    Euchre Tournament (12:30 p.m.)  Will be held in the Parish Hall.  Advance registration isn’t necessary.  You don’t have to bring a partner.

    Raffle (3:00 p.m.) In the Parish Hall. over $2500 in cash prizes.  Remember, every pack of tickets that are sold makes a difference!  Please pick up yours and sell them!

    SPECIAL DOOR PRIZES:  More than 25 door prizes will be awarded to guests who attend the dinner!  Every guest will draw a ticket from the Pot O' Gold to see if they will be a lucky winner!  No additional charge for this special giveaway!
